The first thing I notice is that when it was posted just hours after President Obama’s announcement, it was 7 webpages long. And clearly this was being written for years….because there was even a footnote: “Michael T. Kaufman, a principal writer of this article, died in 2010. Tim Weiner contributed reporting.”
