Remove Palladium Antivirus
This one is a real bitch! Once Palladium Antivirus installs on a PC, it starts to scare you with fake system alert messages that are designed to look similar to notifications from Windows Security Center.
It will mess with settings and steal any personal data or passwords stored on your machine. (NEVER auto-store your passwords!) The whole plan is to get unsuspecting PC users to become utterly scared to the point they feel compelled to purchase the full version of Palladium Antivirus. If you go out on the web looking for ways to remove it, you'll find advice like this. But what if the files you need to delete aren't displayed anywhere on your computer?
It seems Palladium, at least the version that appeared on my computer, doesn't list itself by any of the names mentioned on forums and websites giving advice on removing Palladium or Palladium Pro.
The easiest way to banish this trojan is via System Restore, but Palladium may prevent you from accessing the restore option, even in safe mode. In such a case, you'll have to execute system restore from the command line. The system should be rolled back to at least five to seven days prior to the Palladium splash screen appearing on your PC.
At the Command Prompt, type C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe and press Enter.
Follow the instructions given to perform the System Restore process.
