THE OWL as a harbinger of ? Can you find it in the photo, captured via smartphone cam from my kitchen window over the weekend? He stayed in the pine tree all afternoon and flew away just as darkness fell. Fascinating little creature!

In parts of northern England it is good luck to see an Owl. Native American Indians, specifically the Mojaves of Arizona, believed one would become an Owl upon death, this being an interim stage before becoming a water beetle, and ultimately, pure air.
