The 60 Minutes CBS-tv interview with US President Barack Obama just concluded. I wanted to give you my impression of the broadcast before seeing or hearing what anyone else thought of it.

I tweeted from my cell phone that I was watching it shortly after the program began. I was not able at that time to read anyone else's tweets or otherwise be influenced by anyone or anything on the internet (all computers at the house were shut off).

The president was excellent, coming off as insightful, articulate and sincere. Seperated from staff, from VP Joe Biden and from his advisers and Cabinet, Barack Obama is a straight-shooter. Granted, he was not asked any of those so-called "tough questions," but at the time the interview was recorded, there may not have been time to formulate any. (And remember all the questions involving "conspiracy theories" revolve around the misinformation and flip-flopping stories disseminated by "officials.")

So, it matters not whether Hillary was horrified or just suffering from allergies. It matters not whether Osama bin Laden had "no internet or satellite TV" but then he did. What matters is the good word of President Obama. To hear him say that we did indeed "get" bin Laden, was good enough for me. He was convinced. Is that good enough for you?

If you answered "No," I understand why. All these other told and then re-told tales are too many to often. Now imagine YOU are Barack Obama and you are relying on what these guys are telling you? No wonder bin Laden was concerned that "a government within a government" existed in the US. Perhaps Obama should be too.
